Cost-effective culture: How Salisbury Museum’s been saving money

Salisbury Museum is located in a stunning historical manor overlooking the famous Salisbury Cathedral. Despite having only limited funds, the museum has been engaging and inspiring local, national and global audiences since it was established in 1860. Find out how Opus Energy has been able to provide them with low-cost and efficient energy for the past 3 years.

Salisbury Museum has dedicated itself to telling the story of the unique Wiltshire landscape for over 150 years. Located in a grade I listed building with a history stretching back to the 13th century, the museum holds an impressive collection of artefacts from prehistoric material to medieval finds ranging from Old Sarum, Clarendon Palace and the city itself. The house also boasts displays of costumes and ceramics, as well as regular temporary exhibitions.

The largely volunteer-run museum is a charitable, non-profit organisation that relies heavily on entry fees, memberships, grants and donations to continue its vital work. For this reason, finding the best prices on the market was a huge consideration when choosing a business energy supplier.

“Of course, as a charity, price is really important to the financial commitments we make. But, we were also looking for an energy supplier that offered great value, combined with the right length of contract and good ethics – and Opus Energy ticked all these boxes for us.” commented Nicola Kilgour-Croft, finance manager at Salisbury Museum.

“The switching process went through really smoothly, and the facility to receive invoices via email means I don’t need to spend time on the phone trying to sort out payment. Having 12 month contracts really works for us. It’s worked so well in fact, that three years on from our switch in 2012, we’re looking to renew again for another year!”

Providing high quality service for small and medium businesses is central to the work we do here at Opus Energy, and we are always committed to making the entire process of energy provision as smooth and efficient as possible.
