Dan’s back in the gym following his recent win at the European Gymnastics Championships. Find out how he’s feeling after proving that, following last year’s knockbacks, he has come back strong!
In the video Daniel says:
“Hi everyone, I’m back training at Huntingdon now after last week’s success at the Europeans in Russia.
“I went to the Europeans to do pommel and parallel bars. Unfortunately on qualifications I made a big mistake on parallel bars so I didn’t make the final. I also made a small mistake on the pommel horse which caused me just to scrape into the final in 8th place, but that was the hard thing making the finals, it was really hard work. A few days later I competed in the finals and I won gold, beating the Olympic bronze medallist Max Whitlock and the Olympic gold medallist Krisztian Berki.
“You know, it’s been so hard these last three years with injury, especially after missing the Olympics last year as well, I really wanted to come back with a bang and made a big statement. So you know, hopefully I’ve done that by winning the gold medal I’ve made a statement saying I’m back and I’m obviously looking forward to the Worlds now so I’ve got a lot of training to do, a lot of hard work to put in to increase my performance. And hopefully I’m going to start doing the All Round again, so hopefully you might see me in the All Round at the World Championships.
