I am now just about to leave for a GB camp at the National Sports Centre in Lilleshall that will last for two weeks, culminating in a team selection trial on 27 and 28 August for the World Championships in Tokyo at the beginning of October. We will have to compete on all six apparatus on both the Saturday and Sunday, and show consistency across both days as this will simulate what will be expected from us in Tokyo.
Since my last blog the past two weeks have just flown by, but my own training has been going really well with the consistency in my new routines getting better every day.
I do have a bit of a strategy that I have been working on with my coach that will allow me to make some minor adjustments to my routines if a certain element of my routine isn’t showing consistency in the lead up to the trial and even during the competition.
I have had a relaxing weekend and I even got to watch the Reds at Anfield on Saturday with my Dad. I am now really focused and can’t wait to get back competing at the highest level.
