With only four weeks until the World Championships at the O2 Arena, I am very busy putting together the final touches to my routines. I have included a few extra skills on four apparatus, Pommel, Rings, Parallel Bars and High Bar, this will help increase my start score value and difficulty from the routines I performed in Milan when I won the All Around silver medal at the European Championships.
I now need to get my routines consistent enough for competition and I hope to try them out at the Champions Trophy on Saturday the 19th September in Berlin, Germany. This is a prestigious invitation only competition for All Around gymnasts and I will be up against seven of the best All Around gymnasts from Germany, America, Russia, Italy, France and Switzerland including the Olympic All Around Bronze medallist Benoit Caranobe and the European All Around champion Fabian Hambuchen. I am a little bit nervous as they are new routines but it will help me decide if the new skills are consistent enough for the World championships.
The World Championships at the O2 Arena are a pre-cursor to the Olympic games as the O2 Arena will be staging the Gymnastics in 2012 so I am really excited about competing in front of a home crowd and it will give me a feel for what it will be like at the Olympics.
